MUSICAL NOTES

SONGS for AUTUMN

Autumn has always been my favorite time of year. No other season inspires & captures my imagination, or feels more alive to me, than Autumn.

A sweet farewell to Summer, filled with resplendent displays of color, acrobatic skies, symphonic crescendos of wind through the trees, all ending in a ticker-tape parade shower of leaves, and a great gathering near, with Winter soon upon us.

Not to mention, it’s crowning jewel, an annual costumed block party with free candy, door to door?!!…. Come on….Best season ever.

This song list comes right from “Side A” of my “Autumn Mix” tape (yes tape), a compilation I put together sometime back in high school (with a couple later add-ons). For me, these songs truly capture the nostalgia, whimsy, romance, mood & timbre of the season.

Be it the middle of August, one need only play this compilation, and I’m bundled up and out the door, with my thermos of Hot Spiked…er…Spiced Cider, to go kick some leaves. I hope you enjoy these remarkable recordings as much as I do!!
